Open Studio for Experienced Potters
Are You Looking for Extra Studio Time?
Bring your own tools and have use of your own pottery wheel, use of extruder and slab roller and create your own “ONE OF A KIND” pottery items. By appointment only, spaces limited.
Open studio spots are $10.00. per hour. Clay must be purchased from Burnt Offerings Studio. Clay is $50.00 per 25 pound block. Several types of clay is available and includes all firings and glazes for that block of clay.
Many types of Stoneware Clay Available.
Open studio is a way to work independently and create at your own pace. It is suitable for those whom have had a minimum of one year of wheel throwing, trimming and glazing (brush on glazes) experience. Studio time is $10.00 per hour. If you book your time and are a no show, or you cancel less than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time, you will still be charged for your time missed. Your own pottery wheel, as well as use of slab roller and extruder is available for your use. You will be expected to leave your wheel and workspace in the condition you receive it in. You will need your own basic tool kit, eg. wire, trimming tools, sponge, rib etc. throwing bats, boards and a storage shelf will be made available for you.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A POTTERY LESSON. YOU MUST BE EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO WORK COMPLETELY ON YOUR OWN. IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE EXPERIENCE TO WORK ON YOUR OWN, FORMAL POTTERY LESSONS WILL BE REQUIRED. STUDIO SPACE IS RENTED PER PERSON PER EXPERIENCED POTTER. YOU CANNOT BRING AN INEXPERIENCED PERSON WITH YOU TO TEACH NOR BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO PLAY ON THE WHEEL DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. ONLY CLAY PURCHSED FROM STUDIO WILL BE FIRED.
